Thai Yoga

thai_yoga_massage Traditional Thai Yoga is an ancient healing technique that has been preserved by field workers since the time of The Buddha (roughly 500 b.c.). As it originated in India, the founding father was Jivaka Khumar Bhaccha. He was a yogi and doctor in the ancient Indian healing system of Ayurveda.  According to traditional knowledge, the Buddah was one of Kumar Bhaccha’s patients. This indicates that the system he used dates back about 2,500 years. Kumar, a devout Buddhist, was a significant teacher whose body/mind/spirit practice migrated to Thailand as a part of the spiritual practices of Buddhism.

The practice itself manifests as a flowing dance that synthesizes the cumulative knowledge and techniques of many disciplines. Restoring balance and harmony within the physical body, energy body, mind, emotions, and spirit (the 5 koshas). It includes hands-on techniques, yoga postures, meditation and deep relaxation. Sessions combine assisted Yoga poses, muscle compression, acupressure and energy work. This healing modality will leave you feeling refreshed, energized and balanced.

The true essence of this healing art begins when two bodies move together with self-awareness creating graceful movement and a fluid meditative dance.
